Highlights from Burning Man 2013, mostly featuring stuff I made. Dana got on my case about posting pictures, so these are for her!
Jason’s long-time friend HOBO DEATH was really excited to get these leggings I made.
The Starstuff Express is made from a 1982 Schwinn Collegiate.
A selection of glasses I brought to the playa (this is not the full collection).
My husband wearing his zipper mask.
I loved meeting clients on the playa!
When I stepped onto the platform “Barbie Girl” started playing. I had walked off the art car to go see some friends in Black Rock Year Book.
I gave Kayla the teal velvet bikini top that morning, and then we went on a ladies-only art car cruise (with mimosas!)
There are lots more pictures to see!
My husband designed this neon fleece onesie and I sewed it up.

“Gearhead” was one of my favorite art pieces at Burning Man. The Sensatron is hiding behind the rocketship.

Which reminds me, one evening I was standing by Disorient as the lamplighters passed by. One lady shouted out “Hey Julianne! Come here!” She recognized me from my website! I didn’t know Melissa, but she had used my genie pants tutorial to make her own pair of pants. Another friend wound up meeting her a few days later. It was one of the coolest moments. Hi Melissa!
This pendulum was surrounded by large magnets in the ground, so you would be pulled back and forth. (picture from Maria Fomich)

I’m so glad that there were so many great photographers out there. Thank you for documenting part of the experience!
Hopefully, at some point I’ll take more detailed shots of individual pieces. I just did not feel like posing for pictures most of the time when I was actually on the playa. It happens every year.
Yes!! Thank you for sharing!! I love your spirit and your skill and the way you mesh ’em together. More posts! More! Doesn’t hafta be Burning Man stuff; I love seeing it all. Your fan in Bk, Dana
Also, I have this idea for a hat….if anyone could make it, it’s you (not totally sure it is make-able, from a physics standpoint). Can you send me yr email address (or send me one)? Whenever you have time, no rush. We all is crazy-busy these days. Xo
